What is Kamiyah Mobley Story All About?

The Kamiyah Mobley Tale is based on a true tale in which a tiny girl named Kamiyah Mobley was taken from a Florida hospital when she was only eight hours old on July 10, 1998.

In 2017, the story of her captivity and eventual rescue made national headlines. Because no images of Kamiyah were taken prior to her kidnapping, a computer-generated composite of her was made for distribution to the media.

Reports highlighted distinguishing characteristics such as Mongolian patches and an umbilical hernia. Mobley was swabbed following a series of tips, and a DNA sample collected from Mobley after she was born was matched to a swab taken from the prospective match.

Gloria was apprehended in South Carolina and transported to Florida, where she was charged with abduction and tampering with evidence. Gloria has a history with law enforcement, having been accused of check and welfare fraud in the past.

Kamiyah claimed Gloria as “no criminal,” insisting that Gloria provided her with “everything she needed.”

Was Kamiyah Mobley Kidnapped By Her Mother Gloria Williams?

Kamiyah Mobley was taken eight hours after delivery by a lady dressed in hospital clothing mimicking a nurse, who entered the room, assisted and conversed with the mother, and subsequently walked out of the room with Kamiyah in her arms.

Employees first assumed that the lady who kidnapped Mobley belonged to the Mobley family. Later, Shanara was interviewed, asking for her daughter’s return.

The kidnapper was thought to be between the ages of 25 and 35, and he may have worn spectacles and a wig.

The kidnapper’s outfit consisted of a flowery blue smock and green scrub trousers. Gloria Williams, who was approximately 33 at the time, later fabricated paperwork to create a new identity for Mobley.

Gloria was in an abusive relationship and had recently miscarried a child, which is thought to be her motivation for the kidnapping.

Gloria pled guilty to kidnapping in February 2018. Gloria admits to acting alone in the 1998 kidnapping. Williams was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the kidnapping of Kamiyah Mobley on June 8, 2018.

Mobley maintains contact with her captor, Williams, whom she refers to be her mother. Gloria is now incarcerated in the Hernando Correctional Institution and is due to be released on July 9, 2034.
