What Happened To Wendell Jeffson? Son Of The Polygamic Cult Leader Warren Jeffs Enjoying Freedom

Warren Jeffs’s son Wendell Jeffson expresses his freedom less life till 18.

He is the son of the president of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), Warren Jeffs.

Wendell’s father, a polygamist cult leader, had married a 15-year-old and a 12-year-old, which led to sexual assault against child charges.

What Happened To Wendell Jeffson?

Wendell Jeffson’s father brainwashed and manipulated him.

He grew up on a ranch spreading out over 1,700 acres near Eldorado, Texas, without control over his life. The church told him what to wear, eat, read, and think. Further, he never had toys.

He would wake up at 5 AM daily to help make breakfast, clean up, and go to the fields to pick up weeds. The church would send kids as young as four years old to the garden.

Wendall only had brief excursions off the ranch, which led him to question his father’s teaching. The FLDS taught the followers to believe that people of color were bad, but he had meetings with non-white humans who were kind to him.

Likewise, he couldn’t understand the need to wear long sleeves and not play with the toys. But, only when he was about 18 years old – did his desire to date someone make him stand against the teachings.

Before then, Wendall had never received sex education and was unknown to dating.

Moreover, his mother explained to him all the details and that if they remained in the church, he would face an arranged marriage. After several discussions, he decided to leave with his mother and sister.

As for why it took him so long to come to this decision which seems obvious, it was his loyalty to the cult. Though the church didn’t use physical threats to keep them from leaving, the constant mental abuse was more than enough.
