The NFL player’s mom had to visit the hospital every few months for surgeries and follow-ups for her colon cancer. After her surgery for colon cancer, the reports revealed that cancer had spread to her liver and lungs.

Despite things looking pretty grim, the family had a positive outlook. Finally, after an entire year of surgery and follow-up visits with chemotherapy, the athlete announced on his social media that his mom was cancer-free.

The announcement came right before the final game of BYU freshman season, where Dax performed great in 2018, for which he received lots of positive comments from his followers congratulating him for his and his mother’s win.
