Brandon has won several awards including, a scholarship in the first year. He got honored with the All-SEC offensive guard in 1997 and 1998 and was named 1st team All-American and awarded an all-conference honor.

Brandon Burlsworth got into a car accident and was declared dead on the scene on April 28, 1999. The accident occurred near Alpena, Arkansas, while he was on the way back to his hometown.

Brandon’s family established a foundation in 1999 to honor him. The book, Eyes of a Champion, the Brandon Burlsworth Story, was released in 2001. A movie about his life, Greater, was released on August 26, 2016.

He completed a master’s degree before playing his final game and became the first Arkansas Razorback football player to do so. Brandon got drafted in the third round of the 1999 draft by the Indianapolis Colts.

Brandon passed away just ten days after the draft, at the age of 22 years.

Even though he was here for a short period, Burlsworth left a legacy and will be remembered for a very long time. He was a positive role model to several people.

Brandon Burlsworth got killed in a car accident on April 28, 1999. His vehicle stapled an oncoming 18-wheeler, which resulted in him diverging into his lane. He then directly hit another tractor-trailer.

A police statement revealed that Brandon’s car drove left of the centerline before hitting the left front fender of a tractor-trailer for unknown reasons. After returning to the lane, the vehicle crossed the center line and hit another tractor-trailer.

Burlsworth was declared dead at the scene. He was on his way home to Harrison to attend church with his mother. He was returning from the Univeristy of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
